‘Holding On’ is the second single released from ‘Alba Rose’. An indie-pop, alt, soul infused track exploring the difficult nature of letting someone go when you’re not yet ready to.
With instrumentation exploring the waves of emotion that come with the journey of love. Switching between the uplifting, elated, hopeful senses of being with someone you adore, transitioning to the frustration, hurt and sadness that comes when having to accept the reality that things are just not meant to be.
lyrics
You seem scared of losing
I'm not quite one to choose but
We've opened up the gates again
Now we both know your bored here
So i'm holding onto you
Who’s holding onto me
We’re not the ones ending happily
Holding onto you
Who’s holding onto me
I'm loving someone I shouldn't be
So, here we going again baby
Cause I've been holding on
Where I know I shouldn't be oh
I’ve been really hoping
That maybe this could be more
It's always so exciting when someone see right in
And then they walk away back home alone
But still i'm holding onto you
Who’s holding onto me
We’re not the ones ending happily
Holding onto you
Who’s holding onto me
Still loving someone I know I shouldn't be
I know we’ve been here before
I’m loving someone I shouldbt be so
Here we going again baby
Cause I've been holding on
Oh I'm holding on where i know I shouldn't be
Still I'm holding onto you who’s holding onto me
I'm not your one
Still holding onto you whos holding onto me
We’re not the ones
Still holding on holding on
I'm not your one
I’m hoping, were holding to something we know
We probably shouldn't be
